Cabela's is our go to rest stop

Hubby loves Cabela's. There isn't one near us so when ever we travel, we usually stop if there is one near by. When we went to visit OD last weekend, we stopped at the Cabela's in Delaware.

The men in the family could spend hours looking at guns. The women, not so much. That is why Cabela's is a great place for us to stop at. It is so much more. There are animal replicas everywhere.

They label everything so that kids and adults can know what they are looking at.

Every way that you look there are displays.

They even hide a few hunters throughout.

It is a great place to play I spy.

YD and I had a great time walking around looking at everything.

They even have a huge fish tank. Sorry the pictures didn't come out good.  They have an archery area that you can practice at too.

Then their is the food area. We always get some fudge when we stop by. Hubby loves their hot nuts. We always pack a cooler but they do have some great food options if you are hungry.

I enjoy looking at some of the silly products they sell.

I think I might make some of these as gag gifts for the men in my life.

If you are interested in long term food storage they carry lots of items.

Hubby and I were checking out their smokers.Ours is old and we have it on a list of future wants.

If you want boats or canoes they have a bunch of them too.

They have very clean bathrooms and water filling stations too. Pets are allowed. We played with several dogs that we met. They have lots of different seating areas for you to be comfortable. YD and I sat and played a game of checkers. I won. They even had a boating licence class going on while we were there.

The one in Delaware is one of the smaller ones we have been to. Several others have shooting arcades, game areas, larger animal exhibits, tons of boats on display as well as tents. So the next time you are traveling, if you need a place to stop and see a Cabela's, they are a great rest stop. We always put a time limit on Hubby because he would stay all day.

  1. We both love Cabelas but I find it very expensive. I also replace a lot of their zippers. It is a fun adventure everytime you go.

    1. The only clothes I have ever gotten there were clearance gloves. I still have them and they are great. They can be expensive on some items but they have great clearance sections.

    1. The beans were $6.99 so there was no way I was buying them but I could make my own mix and put them in recycled bottles and print up some funny labels. Maybe for Father's Day.

  3. We love Cabela's too! The closest one to us is about an hour & 15 minutes away so we do not get there often either. Hubby & I both love looking at the animal displays too. He is on vacation in a couple weeks & we are not going away since he has a Dr appointment almost every day that week so maybe I will haul him there after one of his earlier appointments. Thanks for the idea!

    1. The only expense for us most times is the fudge and nuts so it is a very cheap date. Have a great time.

  4. Cabela's is neat. They also sell Swan Creek candle melts which are my faves(impossible to find in Canada) and only thing I ever buy there. Never seen pets in the one near me but maybe Canadian Cabela's are not as progressive :).

    1. I will have to look for them next time. The Cabela's in the states always have dogs. They have water bowls throughout the store for them.
