Friday Freebies

I sold another fridge that I picked up on college move out day. Several people texted me and then don't get back to me. I had several no shows. This gentlemen texted me, asked a few questions and came over that night. I wish all buyers were this good.

The garden is doing good. The peas and kale are loving all of this rain. I wish I could say the same about the tomatoes, peppers and eggplants.

I have been picking about a pound a day of peas. We have been snacking on them raw, they are so yummy.

I have also sauted them with oil and pepper a few times.

Last weeks freebie from Stop & Shop was oat milk. We have never had it before. I will let you know what we think of it when we open it. I will use it in baking if we don't like it.

Another friend gave me her coupon for free Coconut bars. Hubby should have no problem getting through the summer with all of them.

I went to lunch with a friend and used a bonus card from Panera.

My neighbor gave me 2 more blocks of cheese. They were in her freezer. When the garden gets going I  will give her veggies. She loves my tomatoes.

Today is National Smoothie Day. There really is a day for everything. I know several places are doing free smoothies. Planet Smoothie is doing a free 16 oz Mediterranean Monster smoothie from 2-4. Jamba Juice is doing a free smoothie, your choice of 3 flavors from 2-5. Check out if your local smoothie place is doing anything.

What freebies did you get this week? What are you getting from your garden?

  2. Anxious to hear what you think of the Oat Planet. I got one free also. I picked chocolate. It was truly awful. I could not stand the taste or aftertaste. I dumped it down the drain. I'll stick to cow's milk, soy or almond.

    1. Oh No. I got the plain because I figured I could always use it for cooking. We have an open soy milk so we didn't open it yet. Probably tomorrow.

    2. So we tried the oat milk. I didn't think it was that bad. It tasted like oatmeal which I love. It was sweet. Hubby tried it and liked it too.

    3. Thanks for letting me know. Could have been the chocolate that made it taste bad or maybe it was just us. We even mixed it with cow's milk but that didn't help. I admit I like oatmeal but don't necessarily *love* it. I'm any case, I'll pass on future freebies of this product.

    4. Or you could donate it to a food bank/church/family in need.

  3. I received a few free drinks from McDonalds, and a free Downy sample from the Freeosk at Walmart.

  4. I got the free oat milk from Stop & Shop as well; like you, I figure I'll use it for cooking if we don't care for it by itself. We had just opened a gallon of milk, so I bought the oat milk with the longest sell by date. When the freebie was cashew milk a few months back, I used it to make homemade spiced chai. It was very good like that!

    1. I made steel cut oats with some of it. It tasted the same so I will use it on this weeks steel cut oats again. Hope you like it.

  5. Your peas look beautiful. I grew several plants but they burnt from the hot sun. Only got like 8 pods. It has been Africa hot here in Florida that we only go to the pool and then back home. Even the play ground is too hot for the kids. Because of the heat, my hydroponic garden got algae so I bought salad at the grocery store for the 1st time in 3 years. The only thing thriving in the hydroponics are peppers so I will freeze lots of those and plant lettuce again in late August. No freebies here though I did redeem swag bucks for $15 gift card to Walmart

    1. Have fun shopping at Walmart. Sorry about your garden. That stinks. My peas are going crazy from all of the rain. I wish the rest of the garden was doing as well. At this rate I won't get any tomatoes until August.
