Friday Freebies


I got 2 freebies at Stop & Shop this week. The soup was with a downloadable coupon from Stop & Shop. The Wholly Guacamole minis were from a coupon I got in the mail that I had signed up for. We will happily eat both.


Some of the managers brought in goodies for Halloween so I had a donut and a cupcake. I have no will power. When I was leaving, the manager that made the cupcakes gave me some to bring home to my kids. She made so many and there were very few people on because it was Halloween. The kids were happy to eat them. They were really cute.


When I went in Thursday there was a goodie bag of candy in my desk with my name on it from another manager. This picture is what made it home. I ate most of the chocolate. 


Hubby spotted this being thrown away so he threw it in his truck. It is steel. We will find something to us it for. 


I received 2 of these free coupons. I picked them up for the girls as Christmas gifts. 


Since I was by the mall I ran into Pet Smart which is near bye. I had 2 coupons for free cat food. The dogs are happy to eat it. 


I found a booklet of free coupons for Burger King in a parking lot. I offered YD and my son them. No purchase is needed. YD got herself a free soft serve cone after school one day.

    You do so great with free items every week. It is amazing. My free thing this week was I cut hubs and my hair. That is about it for FREE here.

      I sign up for all rewards programs. Hubby, the kids and I also keep our eyes open for items we could use or sell. Where we live people seem to be lazy and throw away great stuff instead of bringing it somewhere to be donated.

    Hi Mcoia and you did really well :).

    This week our freebies were 3 dozen free range eggs from a friend who's chickens are laying way to many eggs for them at the moment saving us $12 over purchasing them.

    I got a free bottle of creamer this week from one store's loyalty card. I also got a free yogurt from another store. One daughter moved out this week and left quite a bit of "her" food, which means very healthy food. I was able to use several items today. I was surprised to find cherry tomatoes, 3 small cucumbers and boc choi in the garden this week. We've cleaned most of it up, and the weather has turned cool and rainy, so I wasn't sure we would get more veggies.

      That is great that you are still getting some veggies from the garden. And free food from the store is a favorite. Congrats on having your daughter move out. It is hard but that is what they are supposed to do. Did she stay near bye so that you can so her often? They grow up fast.

I Quit My Job!

I have been working at a movie theater for the past 13 years. I started when my YD was still at home. I had been babysitting a friend's daughter and she had started school. We needed the money so I got a part time job there for nights and weekends. It worked for us because Hubby watched the kids. I didn't have to pay anyone and I didn't want a stranger watching my kids. When YD started school, I transitioned from nights to days. But I still had to work weekends and holidays.  The movie theater is open 365 days a year. We have only been closed on 1 day since I started, Super Storm Sandy and that was because the state mandated it. We are open every holiday, every snow storm, everyday. When I took the job, I knew that. I signed paperwork saying I would work weekends and holidays, that I had a reliable car and could get there in any weather.  13 years is a long time. I have seen many changes there over the years, some good, mostly bad. There are only 7 people in the theater...
