Making Cents Of It All

My son started his new job last week. They ordered him uniforms. This Monday he was given 11 uniforms (shirts and pants). At my old job all I got was 2 shirts. I had to beg for a 3rd.  Some friends and I met for breakfast at Panera. I had a free pastry on my card so I got a cinnamon roll. I also used the $3 gift card I got last week from Verizon. You have to use the whole $3 in one transaction so I got 3 bagels. I ate one there, gave one to my friend and brought one home.  I picked up a freebie from Stop N Shop. We wont eat it so Hubby brought it to work and one of his coworkers ate it.  YD has food credits at college. It is a weekly use it or lose it system. I am doing really well on my Christmas shopping. I had $10 in Kohl's cash. I bought this(can't show you exactly because people look at this blog) and I spent 3¢ so I am calling it free since I found a dime by the register.  My girlfriend and I went out to lunch using gift cards. Can you guess where? I was given a free drink. I brought it home for Hubby. My friend had a bunch of coupons for free cookies. She gave me one and I passed it on to my son.  A friend gave me this nail kit that she had been given. It went into the gift pile.  She also gave me these sticker labels. They went with the Christmas stuff.  Did everyone get their coupon for tuna?  I helped the high school PTA out on Open School. I manned the snack table so that my friend's could go to their kid's classes. It has been a while since I have done one of these.  Last weeks freebie from Stop & Shop was this single serving of cake. I gave it to P (the gentlemen I help). It is the perfect size for him and he loves chocolate.  This is this weeks Stop & Shop freebie. Hubby loves dried apricots. Did you know that you can get a free Hallmark card on Fridays this month if you have their rewards card. P needed to get a birthday card for a friend's birthday. We went today and I got myself a free card. I did have to pay tax for it.  P and I went out for lunch. He loves to eat out. Part of our working agreement is he pays if we go out.  There is a Cheesecake Factory right near the card store so he wanted to go there. I ordered off the lunch menu. He insisted that I get a piece of cheesecake. I was full so I took it home.  The garden is still providing well.  I have been drying lots of herbs for the winter....

I sold another fridge that I picked up on college move out day. Several people texted me and then don't get back to me. I had several no shows. This gentlemen texted me, asked a few questions and came over that night. I wish all buyers were this good.  The garden is doing good. The peas and kale are loving all of this rain. I wish I could say the same about the tomatoes, peppers and eggplants.  I have been picking about a pound a day of peas. We have been snacking on them raw, they are so yummy.  I have also sauted them with oil and pepper a few times.  Last weeks freebie from Stop & Shop was oat milk. We have never had it before. Happy National Donut Day. Today I will be going to my local Duck Donuts for a free cinnamon donut. They were kind enough to send me an email to remind me. There is no coupon needed. We have been picking strawberries everyday. They have been used in milkshakes, steel cut oats, on pancakes and eaten fresh. We love having them. Hubby and I think we found an are to plant more.  I received lots of wonderful gifts for my birthday. Everyone was very generous. OD sent me a box of cookies since I didn't get to see her. They are so good. I also got a dehydrator(I have been wanting one for a while), a book, chocolate, nuts, malt mix and gift cards.  One of my sisters came over on my birthday and treated us all to lunch. We had a great time. We brought all of the leftovers home of course and enjoyed them later. My sister recently moved. She has always used my BJ's card.
