Making Cents Of It All

January is already over. That went really fast. We did get a lot done. I think with it being cold and our goals on our minds that we do more earlier in the year.  #1  Max out Hubby's 401K   We are allowed to put $19K in this and his company does a partial match. Looking long term here. We are currently putting 15% into Hubby's 401K. His job does a match too.   #2   Add to our Roth IRA  We can add $6500 to this. Again looking long term here. We will do this before the year is up.  #3  Pay cash for OD's wedding   We have given her the budget that we can contribute. We have already paid for her dress, shoes and the DJ. We have money set aside already for the rest of this. We booked the AirBNB and paid for half of it. It was a better option then several hotel rooms. We put a deposit down for the hair and makeup. It was a very busy weekend. We only have a few more weeks until youngest daughter's graduation party at our house. We redid the front porch this weekend. We worked on it until 9 pm Sunday night to get it finished. We love how it came out.  This is a before picture. We had already ripped out the bushes in front. Hubby and my son sanded everything. In retrospect, we should have rented a larger sander. It took them hours with the 2 small sanders that we had. It did the job, it just would have been quicker and easier with a bigger one.  YD and I painted all of the posts. It took 3 coats to get it how I wanted.  Hubby rolled the floor and YD and I did all of the edges. That part went very fast.  We bought new vinyl lattice for the bottom. It was easy to work with and will be easy to clean.  I spray painted the little table that was out there black. It used to be green and needed a new coat anyway.
