Garden Work Bench

Image
I hope everyone is doing OK. We have been outside as much as possible with all of this wonderful weather. Hubby made me a beautiful garden work bench. I just love it.  We already had everything. The wood is from the kid's old swing set and my sister's swing set that we took down for her.   All of the screws and hooks we had from other projects or yard sale purchases.  I already started using it. My tomatoes needing transplanting into larger pots.  We placed it near the small garden off of the patio. It fits perfectly.

Friday Freebies

I drove past a pile of stuff one day. I stopped to look. There were some books so I took a few. I will see if I can sell the 2 science books. If not I will donate them. I did another free library class. This one was making flowers from book pages. It was a non registered class and it was packed. They did not plan for as many people that showed up. Everyone was originally supposed to make several flowers but there was not enough equipment and time. There was only 4 glue guns and about 15 pairs of scissors. There were about 40 people. Thankfully my friend got there early and got us seats and a pair of scissors to share. It has never been this crazy before. I did have a nice time talking with my friend and with other folks. I was able to bring supplies home to make a few more flowers so I will make them sometime soon.  YD had carved a pumpkin up with a friend. I cooked it and froze 3 containers of pumpkin puree to use in the future. The pumpkin was free to me so t...

Earth Day 2018

Happy Earth Day. Go plant a tree. Go pick up garbage from your neighborhood. Then recycle it. Do something to clean up our planet.  But shouldn't Earth Day be everyday. Shouldn't we as people of Earth, take care of our home every single day of the year. It is great that their is a day for everyone to think about it. I mean I love my birthday so that my family celebrates me. But shouldn't we be taking care of Earth everyday? I am by no means an expert on this, but I do try. My daughter went to college for Wildlife Conservation. Over the years she has told us so many disturbing things that she has learned. We have watched many documentaries  on the subject. If everyone does not start to do something about the cheap junk we are using everyday our kids and grandkids are going to have a worse problem then we do. We are running out of room with all of the cheap crap that is being produced. One use items are making are land fills overflow.  There are actual islan...

Use It Again!

Toothbrushes      My dentist  has always told me to change my toothbrush every six months. He is even nice enough to give me a new one every time I go for a cleaning (which is every six months).  Hubby, son, youngest daughter and I all live at home. That adds up to 8 toothbrushes a year. Now my doctor has always said that after you are sick you should throw out your toothbrush. So say at least one more per person. That makes 12 toothbrushes a year that we are using. They aren't broken. They are just used.  Cutting down on our garbage is something I am always trying to do. We don't pay extra for garbage, it comes out of my taxes. I just don't like seeing everything go into the landfills. We only have so much room on planet Earth. So I try to find different uses for things. I always run the toothbrushes thru the dishwasher. We don't want to be spreading germs all over while using them again. Bathrooms have so many uses for old ...
