Thankful Day 9

Today I am thankful for good neighbors. Our best neighbors are moving today. We will miss them so much. They were here when we moved in. They have become such good friends. We share equipment, help each other out and watch each other's homes. We will really miss having them across the street. Thankfully our neighbors right next door are also great. We plan on introducing ourselves to the new neighbor when she moves in.

    Today we are thankful for DH getting more paid gardening work that we will put intot he bank for our house move :).

    Good neighbors are important. Ours is a keep to yourself mostly neighborhood but if we needed them for something we have 3 good neighbors(2 on our cul-de-sac, 1 on the road opposite us)but the other 6 around us suck! lolz

First Garden Harvest 2020

I hope everyone is healthy and doing alright with our new normal. When the weather permits I have been out side working on the gardens. My kale never died the winter because it was so mild. It recently started growing again.  I was able to pick a nice bunch this morning. I will be incorporating it into our meals this week. YD loves smoothies and always tosses some kale in. The gardening season has finally begin! Have you harvested anything from your garden yet this year?

Dirt

At 7 am Saturday morning a truck came and dropped of 8 yards of topsoil. Then Hubby, the kids and I got to work. It was a beautiful day out, sunny and 60 degrees. Perfect for hard labor. We have a wheel barrel and a garden wagon that can dump. 4 shovels in hand and off we went.  We had several trees taken down a few years ago. Then 2 years ago we had the driveway done. Last year we had the siding on the house done. Time to fix the lawn. We have lots of dips in the front and back yard from all of the work. I am a little clumsy and have fallen several times in them. We were able to level out the front yard and fill in the holes in the back yard. The back yard has a large hill so it will never be level but it is more of a gentle slope now. Some places didn't get dirt because they didn't need it.  We ordered pizza since I was too tired to cook. After dinner Hubby spread grass seed everywhere.
