Friday Freebies




Ben & Jerry's is having their free cone day Tuesday, April 10, 2018 12-8pm. I love free ice cream so the kids and I will be going. If you have a Ben & Jerry's near you go check it out.

   

My son brought some breakfast soufflés home from work that would have been thrown in the garbage. We enjoyed them for breakfast one morning.



I picked up last weeks freebies from Stop & Shop.



We were doing a give away at work last week. It is over now and employees were allowed to take a shirt if they wanted. I am making a movie basket for my church at the end of the month so this shirt will go well with it. It is a child's small.


My sister came to pick up youngest daughter as they were going into NYC for a few days to stay at her apartment. She brought me this beautiful plant. They were going to 2 plays and having a spa day. My sister has no children of her own. As gifts she enjoys giving activities instead of stuff.  I know my kids love spending one on one time with their aunt.



She also gave me this lettuce that she was not going to eat. I gave her some cottage cheese and cream cheese that I got on sale that I know she likes.


I went to the library and borrowed Blu-rays and books. Hubby and I had a date night at home 2 nights in a row. YD was with my sister. My son was at school one night and a concert the next. Since we were having a date night Hubby said to get take out.

I had a Panera gift card from Christmas and he had a Chipotle one so that is what we got. The bagel was free because I earned 2 weeks of free bagels (got 1 everyday so far except Easter). The drink was free because my son works there. Sorry I didn't take a picture of Hubby's food.

I Quit My Job!

I have been working at a movie theater for the past 13 years. I started when my YD was still at home. I had been babysitting a friend's daughter and she had started school. We needed the money so I got a part time job there for nights and weekends. It worked for us because Hubby watched the kids. I didn't have to pay anyone and I didn't want a stranger watching my kids. When YD started school, I transitioned from nights to days. But I still had to work weekends and holidays.  The movie theater is open 365 days a year. We have only been closed on 1 day since I started, Super Storm Sandy and that was because the state mandated it. We are open every holiday, every snow storm, everyday. When I took the job, I knew that. I signed paperwork saying I would work weekends and holidays, that I had a reliable car and could get there in any weather.  13 years is a long time. I have seen many changes there over the years, some good, mostly bad. There are only 7 people in the theater...
