Adding to my Pantry

It has been a crazy busy week. We did very little shopping this week since I was so busy. That is OK. That's why I have a stocked pantry.   Hubby ran to BJ's on Saturday to get 2 gallons of milk. He treated himself to a package of his favorite cookies to keep at work. Sorry there is no picture.  He spent $13.07.  I stopped at Meat Farms on the way home from work. I wanted some fresh fruit and veggies.

The peppers were marked down to $1.59 for the package. The roastbeef coldcuts were marked down to $2.05 and $1.50. They were $4.99 a pound which is the cheapest coldcuts I can get in my area.

Total spent at Meat Farms was $19.63.  My total for the week was $32.07

I did manage to add a few other things. On Saturday I volunteered at my Church. When we were cleaning up I was given 6 loaves of Italian bread and a tray of meatballs.

We ate a bunch of both. I then froze the rest of the meatballs for future use. I didn't have room for the bread in the freezer so I made the last 2 loaves into bread crumbs.

I seasoned them with garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, basil and parsley. They are ready to use. That container was a 34 oz. nut container so I did get a lot from the 2 loaves.

My son also brought home lots of goodies over the weekend. I froze all 3 loaves of bread and 6 of the bagels.

The kale has been doing wonderful. YD loves her smoothies. I picked a bunch of kale and froze a baggie for when it stops producing. I will be doing more of that as it is growing like crazy.

Did you add anything to your pantry this week? Every little bit helps. Weeks like this, I am so glad that I have my pantry and freezers full of delicious foods.

  1. Good pick ups on the discounted vegetables and roast cold cuts :).

I downloaded $14.29 from selling saved seeds from the gardens which I put into my pantry budget.

We added to our pantry with -
    - Making 5 jars of orange and lemon marmalade from gifted lemons and oranges purchased on 37% clearance price. $2.48 to make including power is a darn site cheaper than buying a no preservative jam equivalent in the shops.
    - Added 3 x500g of bags corn flour to the pantry with left over grocery money.
    - Was gifted another large grocery bag of lemons. Half we have used for the marmalade and the other half we shall process in the coming days into something else which will probably be lemonade concentrate with honey.

Saving the rest of our grocery budget for our 2 monthly shop on 12th of June unless we see any good specials on items we already have on our shopping list that we have used.
