Thankful Day 7

Today I am thankful for my well stocked pantry and full freezers. No matter what may happen, I know I can feed my family. If a friend is having a hard time making ends meet, I can help without adding any costs to my budget. When OD visits, I can let her go shopping in the pantry and let her take what ever she needs. When the school has a food drive like they currently are, YD can take what she wants to share with those less fortunate.

Oreo Got Hurt

She is OK and that is the most important thing. We are not sure exactly what she did to herself but she started limping Monday night. I checked her paw to make sure there was nothing in it. Hubby and I decided to block the stairs and have her sleep on the first floor. She usually sleeps in our room. Hubby brought down her bed to the living room. In the middle of the night she did a loud yelp. You have to step on her for her to yelp so it was very strange. Hubby and I flew down the stairs to check on her. She was in pain and didn't want to put her foot down. We got her to lay down and I got ice on her leg. I wasn't sure if it was her paw, leg or shoulder. She finally went back to sleep and I did too.  YD is the first to get up and I heard her walking around. 2 minutes later Oreo let out another huge yelp. First Garden Harvest 2020

I hope everyone is healthy and doing alright with our new normal. When the weather permits I have been out side working on the gardens. My kale never died the winter because it was so mild. It recently started growing again.  I was able to pick a nice bunch this morning. I will be incorporating it into our meals this week. YD loves smoothies and always tosses some kale in. The gardening season has finally begin! Have you harvested anything from your garden yet this year?
