Friday Freebies


Staples is at it again. They sent me another $10 off coupon. I actually missed it until the day it expired (Saturday) so I ran right over. I got a lot this time. The EOS were holiday items marked down to $1. 


Then on Tuesday morning, I got another one. I don't know what I'm doing to keep getting them but I am happy to use them. I did pay 57¢ for the wipes and garbage bags. 


I got a coupon in the mail from Ortega. I had called because all of the shells last time were really crushed. I ended up making a taco salad instead. I will use this coupon soon. 


I love CouponPro and check it everyday. I signed up for this a few weeks ago. The coupon came. I will be picking this lotion up soon. 


Thanks to my son and his job there will be no shortage of bread in our house. I actually had so much and no room in the freezer so I made bread crumbs.

Hubby and I went out to dinner and used a gift card to pay for the whole thing. Because we sat in the pizzeria section there wasn't even a tip. There is still money left on the gift card. 


I got some free items grocery shopping this week. 


I even made money on the cereal. Stop & Shop had it on sale for 99¢ a box limit four. I had a $2 off 2 GM and I had (2)  $1 off of any Cheerios. Then Ibotta had 25¢ on any cereal. I would have gotten them anyway because my price point for cereal is $1 so they were a very good deal. 

I did another library class. This one was making a vision board. They also served snacks again so I had cookies too. I was originally wait listed but they keep adding classes because so many people tried to sign up and couldn't get in. 


My neighbor called and asked if we wanted more American cheese. Her BIL gets it free and doesn't eat it. He passes it along. They have more then they can eat. Its not the best cheese in the world but for grilled cheese or omelettes it works. 

YD won a t-shirt from a trivia contest on her senior trip. She also got a mug from the scavenger hunt.

    Good grief! This was a banner week for you:). I'm glad you got so many free items!

    From Safeway, I got free pasta sauce, 1 doz eggs, and $2 off any bakery purchase. I've tried to spend the bakery one twice before, and only the actual freshly baked items work with that coupon. So, my husband, who was doing the shopping, got 4 loose bagels.

    I wanted some dirt for my 2 new raised beds. So, I decided to move some dirt from an area near where we park our camper to the new place to fill in at least the bottom layer in the new raised beds. I'm probably 2/3 of the way done. It will lower the cost quite a bit to not have to buy dirt for the entire beds.

      Free food is my favorite. Jake will be so happy about the eggs.

      My town gives away free compost and dirt. You have to get it yourself so there is lots of shoveling involved. I do it every spring. Call and see if your town has any. It is a great program.

I Quit My Job!

I have been working at a movie theater for the past 13 years. I started when my YD was still at home. I had been babysitting a friend's daughter and she had started school. We needed the money so I got a part time job there for nights and weekends. It worked for us because Hubby watched the kids. I didn't have to pay anyone and I didn't want a stranger watching my kids. When YD started school, I transitioned from nights to days. But I still had to work weekends and holidays.  The movie theater is open 365 days a year. We have only been closed on 1 day since I started, Super Storm Sandy and that was because the state mandated it. We are open every holiday, every snow storm, everyday. When I took the job, I knew that. I signed paperwork saying I would work weekends and holidays, that I had a reliable car and could get there in any weather.  13 years is a long time. I have seen many changes there over the years, some good, mostly bad. There are only 7 people in the theater...
