Friday Freebies

Lets look at what I got free this week. I love freebies. 


Hubby, YD and I went to Old Westbury Gardens last weekend with a library pass. We brought a picnic so all we spent was the gas to get there and home. We had a great time and are looking to go back when the roses are all in bloom. I already signed up for several passes for this summer. Free outings are the best. 


It was a dog day when we went there. Booths were set up selling items and doing raffles. We wanted to look at everything for Oreo, Lip and Ruby. We each got a free sample of dog food. 

Later that day we went to Lowe's. They had a special that if you texted the word Spring to them you got a coupon. We all got $5 off any purchase. We went and bought some items we needed for the house. We broke it up into 3 orders so that we could each use our coupon. 


My sister dropped Lip off for the week. She also gave us some stuff. 


YD grabbed the bag. It is a very old bag but still in good shape. 


Sears sent me a $5 off coupon. I used it towards a present.


I earned a $5 GC from Lucky Day. 

Panera is having a GC promotion. If  you spend $50 in GC you get a $10 bonus card for June. With Mother's Day and upcoming birthdays I bought $100 worth for gifts. I earned $20 in bonus cards. I am keeping those. 


While I was there, I got a free lemonade for Hubby. He drank it with his dinner.

I Quit My Job!

I have been working at a movie theater for the past 13 years. I started when my YD was still at home. I had been babysitting a friend's daughter and she had started school. We needed the money so I got a part time job there for nights and weekends. It worked for us because Hubby watched the kids. I didn't have to pay anyone and I didn't want a stranger watching my kids. When YD started school, I transitioned from nights to days. But I still had to work weekends and holidays.  The movie theater is open 365 days a year. We have only been closed on 1 day since I started, Super Storm Sandy and that was because the state mandated it. We are open every holiday, every snow storm, everyday. When I took the job, I knew that. I signed paperwork saying I would work weekends and holidays, that I had a reliable car and could get there in any weather.  13 years is a long time. I have seen many changes there over the years, some good, mostly bad. There are only 7 people in the theater...
