I'm not eating that

I LOVE ice cream. Anyone that knows me knows that I love ice cream. I worked at an ice cream parlor when I was in high school and when I had OD. I worked at the ice cream section for several years at the movie theater. I can eat it in a blizzard, no problem. I found a flavor I will not be trying EVER.

Haagen Dazs, which is my favorite brand of ice cream, came out with a spirits line of ice cream. They have amaretto black cherry almond. Sounds OK. Then there is bourbon vanilla bean truffle. I would try that. Next is bourbon praline pecan ice cream. I would try that too. But stout chocolate pretzel crunch sounds gross. I hate beer so I thought maybe it is me. Well, I texted several people that like beer and they all responded Yuck or gross. So I don't think this flavor is going to be their new best seller.

So what do you think? Is this something that you have to try immediately? Are you going to run to the store after reading this and get it? Or are you like me thinking there is no way I am eating that?

  1. Since Haagen-Dasz never goes on sale here, no, even if I liked it I'd pass. lolz My fav ice cream flavors are almond pistachio and black cherry w/choc. chunks.

    1. I am a chocolate girl so if it has it in it I am good. Every once in a while I want butter pecan or maple walnut. Sorry it doesn't go on sale by you. That stinks.

    2. Out of all the spirit flavors, the rum was not good. The Bourbon is the best, followed by the Stout, which I liked. The rum was crystalized (freezer burned) so my assessment may be unfair, but don't dismiss the Stout... it's very good.

  3. I would pass on the stout, sale or no sale. I am not an ice cream fiend, but I like it fine. It is just never the temptress a chocolate chip cookie is for me.

    1. 2 chocolate chip cookies with a scoop of chocolate ice cream. Now we are talking.

  4. I love stout and chocolate. One of our favorite cakes is a chocolate Guinness cake, made with, you guessed it, Guinness. So, yes, I would eat this flavor, if I ate Haagen Dasz ice-cream. I typically only eat a local brand. Once we move, I have my eye on an ice-cream maker with a built in compressor so I can make my own ice-cream. Stout and chocolate is a recipe I will try to make.

    1. Enjoy it. I guess you are their target audience because I am not.

  5. That doesn't sound good to me at all! I love ice cream, but have to avoid dairy. I miss it.

    1. Have you tried Haagen Dazs dairy free ice creams. Hubby can't have dairy and he loves them. Ben and Jerry's has some great ones too. I also get him Trader Joes vanilla soy ice cream. I use fresh strawberries and make him milkshakes. He loves them.
