Catching Up
Sorry I have been gone so long. It was totally unplanned. I have not been felling well the last few months. I have vertigo and anemia. My iron was super low and so was my vitamin B. Now I know why I was so tired and run down. My vitamin B is good again. Still working on my iron. I seem to be having a hard time absorbing it. I have always taken iron tablets with vitamin C and it stays good. For some reason that hasn't been working as well lately. Going to the doctor lots lately.
Youngest daughter is loving college. We got her moved in with help from OD. Her 2 roommates are very nice. She has made a ton of friends and gotten a bunch of free stuff. They give out a lot of freebies at the beginning of the year to get students to go to events. I cannot believe my baby is away at college.
We stayed and visited with OD, her fiance and Ruby after we dropped YD off. Wedding plans for oldest daughter are going great. She booked the location for next July. She also said Yes to her dress. Hubby and I are treating her to her dress. She looked stunning. I can't wait to show you it next year but for now we are not showing it to anyone. Her fiance's parents are treating to the rehearsal dinner so that has been booked too. OD picked the color of her bridesmaids dresses. She really has gotten a lot done already. I can't wait for the cake tasting.
My garden is still going. It is by no means my best year, but with everything going on I will take whatever I can get. My zucchini, squash, and basil are done. Tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, eggplants, herbs, kale and lettuce are still providing.
I have been cooking with everything I am growing so not to waste any. I have also shared with some friends and family. Hubby was very happy when we made pizza.
I am still helping the elderly gentlemen. I am doing it part time 3 days a week. His Stop and Shop is getting a make over. They have been having lots of clearance. This was one trip. He has treated me out to eat several times and also to ice cream. I really like working with him.
My son bought himself a new to him car. He loves it. We sold the car that he drove (it used to be Hubby's car). We put the money into our car fund. My son is off of our insurance now. We also told the insurance that YD goes away to school(her car is home) so we got a discount for that too. Doesn't Lip look so handsome modeling in front of the car.
I will be trying to post more often. I had to give myself a break but now that things have calmed down I should have the time. I really missed talking to all of you!
I was wondering what y'all were up to since you hadn't posted in so long. Glad all is well and you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteAnd Lip is quite the car model. lolz
Oreo hates having her picture taken. Lip on the other hand sees a camera and runs to get into the picture. He loves having his picture taken.
DeleteHi Mcoia and good to hear you are feeling better than you were :) .
ReplyDeleteWith your anaemia just get the doctor to check you for thyroid hormone levels, and vitamin D levels with a full blood test too as thyroid problems can really mess with your iron levels and can be a condition that kicks in when you have had a history of anaemia for some time. It also causes lethargy as one of many symptoms. This is a very common condition in women in particular between the ages of 35 - 65. Yes I am an ex nurse which is why I am advising you to have this checked.
I have also recently been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) and have a long history of anaemia. There is also a condition called hypothyroidism which is an underactive thyroid. I hope this helps you to narrow down conditions and have yourself treated so you feel better.
That being said I am glad your youngest daughter is settling into college well and your OD wedding plans are going well. So wonderful you have been able to pick some lovely produce from your gardens to add to your groceries to supply lovely meals for your family. The pizza looks scrumptious.
Have a fantastic week ahead :).

Thank you. I will ask about my thyroid. My vitamin D levels are fine. They were checked.
DeleteMost welcome always good to check on everything :) to make sure.

Busy girl and feeling bad as well - so sorry. I hope you get to feeling much better.
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome dog!
Look forward to seeing you more often.
Thank you.
DeleteI hope you feel better soon, Marybeth.
ReplyDeleteThat pizza looks so delicious. How nice to have homegrown veggies.
Thank you. I am already feeling much better then I was earlier this summer.
DeleteI was wondering where you had gone. Glad to hear you're feeling better. Try going to a naturopath for intravenous infusions. I had a magnesium deficiency and no amount of supplements would help.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am trying to avoid having to have an infusion. I hate IVs. I can do a cavity with no Novocaine but give me an IV and I am a mess. My iron has gone up again so what I am doing now is working.
DeleteI have missed your posts, and I hope you get to feeling all better soon!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
