Friday Freebies


When I was coming home from work one day I spotted a free pile. I stopped to check it out. This table was there. It needs to be touched up a bit but is otherwise in great shape. I think it would look good in my dining room.


I also grabbed this little cart. It's in great shape. 



My son came home with lots of free goodies from work. My coworkers, neighbors and friends are loving the treats.  I made more bread crumbs out of the white loaf of bread. 


Panera is having a gift card promotion right now. Spend $50 and get $10 free. With Mother's Day, birthdays and graduations coming I bought $100 worth of gift cards. I got $20 free. While there I got a free drink. 


Hubby had airline miles so he got himself a free subscription. After he read it he brought it to his office for others to read.


Stop & Shops past Friday Freebies. Oreo will always take free food. I gave the cottage cheese to my sister. We are not cottage cheese fans. 


I had a $5 DSW reward and a $5 DSW Birthday bonus.  I went to see what they had since I really don't need more shoes. They had these sneaker balls for $9.99. The kids could always use them. 


We had another work breakfast. They were giving out t-shirts and other goodies. I got a shirt. There was lots of leftovers so I was happy to take a bunch home. I took a container of OJ, cream cheese packets, creamer, bagels and donuts. I also encouraged several other coworkers to take some home. 


My sister gave us some goodies when she picked up Lip. 


Haagen Dazs had free cone day on Tuesday. I will always take free ice cream. The butter pecan was delicious.

    Hi and I love your table you got for free it looks vintage around 1920's to 40's, looking at the legs on it and will come up nicely once the top is lightly sanded, stained and varnished. The cart is also handy to have to move things like pot plants and the like around.

    Here is what we got for free this week -

    This week we got another 12 lemons given to us by my friend and made them into 8 jars of orange and lemon marmalade weighing 3.664kg in our bread maker using these and oranges purchased on special. This should give us over 6 months supply of lovely marmalade for our pantry.

    Hope everyone else have been able to pick up or been given some items free too.

      YD and I will work on it this summer. It will be a fun project to redo the table. It is great that you got more lemons for free. The marmalade would make great gifts.

    All those Panera baked goods look so yummy. I’m a fan of Panera but the one in our town is right by the university and it’s isially packed.
    That rolling cart may be a mechanics dolly, to lay on when working under a car. I do like the table too.
    Free is the best! I don’t think I got anything free this week but I haven’t been out much. I am happy with my grocery shopping prices.

      I thought it might be for a mechanic too but Hubby said its too small. Free is the best price.

      Hi Mcoia they are what is known as a furniture dolly you usually have a set of 2 and put one under each side of furniture to move it. The dolly would be good for moving pot plants, fridges, and lounges (if you have a set of 2) and smaller heavier items though.

      There are the larger mechanics dollies that are about twice as long you use for mechanical work under cars as well.

      I used to be in the auto industry as well as building hardware and hope this info helps.

First Garden Harvest 2020

I hope everyone is healthy and doing alright with our new normal. When the weather permits I have been out side working on the gardens. My kale never died the winter because it was so mild. It recently started growing again.  I was able to pick a nice bunch this morning. I will be incorporating it into our meals this week. YD loves smoothies and always tosses some kale in. The gardening season has finally begin! Have you harvested anything from your garden yet this year?

Dirt

At 7 am Saturday morning a truck came and dropped of 8 yards of topsoil. Then Hubby, the kids and I got to work. It was a beautiful day out, sunny and 60 degrees. Perfect for hard labor. We have a wheel barrel and a garden wagon that can dump. 4 shovels in hand and off we went.  We had several trees taken down a few years ago. Then 2 years ago we had the driveway done. Last year we had the siding on the house done. Time to fix the lawn. We have lots of dips in the front and back yard from all of the work. I am a little clumsy and have fallen several times in them. We were able to level out the front yard and fill in the holes in the back yard. The back yard has a large hill so it will never be level but it is more of a gentle slope now. Some places didn't get dirt because they didn't need it.  We ordered pizza since I was too tired to cook. After dinner Hubby spread grass seed everywhere. Today it is raining lightly.  It was hard work but we got it done and h
